CounselingAn Overview of the Counseling Program
The counseling program at St. Michael's Academy is designed to support the development of the whole child. Our school counseling program is proactive and preventative in its focus and serves as a liaison between home and school. School counseling provides individual and small group counseling for students regarding, but not limited to: social issues, stress and anxiety, academic support, and behavioral management skills. The counselor collaborates with teachers and administration over students' different learning styles as well as resolving student issues. Referrals to professional therapists are also provided.
Parents are encouraged to communicate their questions and/or concerns regarding their child's well-being and success with the school counselor. Likewise, all students are welcome to schedule appointments with the school counselor. Signed parental consent is needed after the first appointment. Counseling services are provided during the school day and usually last between 25-30 minutes. The counselor can be reached via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 413-782-5246 ext. 1005.
