      St. Michael’s Academy is the largest Catholic elementary and middle school in western Massachusetts. We serve students in preschool through grade eight and are widely recognized for our distinguished and nurturing faculty, faith-centered learning environment, challenging academics, and close-knit community.

      As the largest Catholic elementary school in western Massachusetts, St. Michael’s Academy welcomes students from all backgrounds, cultures and faiths and educates students from 3 years old through grade 8. Here students will find a warm, nurturing, faith-centered environment where they will be guided to achieve their highest level of success at each grade level. The school takes pride in educating each child as an individual and strives to ignite a quest for knowledge in each young mind.

      St. Michael’s Academy is committed to the holistic education of each individual student. Dedicated teachers provide a strong academic foundation in math, science, reading, language arts, social studies, and religion, but also an exposure to art, music, physical education, health education, computers, and Spanish. We offer a challenging curriculum according to developmentally appropriate practices set forth by Massachusetts standards and diocesan religion guidelines.

      The communication between home and school is the cornerstone of a child’s education. St. Michael’s Academy strives to provide parents with up-to-date information through a variety of methods. This creates a “team approach” to education between home and school. This partnership is crucial for a successful educational experience. Parents are able to log into the Family Portal in order to review pertinent information about the school and their child(ren).

These are the words that ring throughout the halls of St. Michael’s Academy. We are proud to offer students a “whole child” education meaning we educate all aspects of the child; academically, spiritually, physically and emotionally. We treat each student as an individual helping them to identify and grow the talents that God has given them in order for them to be successful learners while developing life-long skills and building self confidence. Take the next step by applying today! Application is easy and can be done by clicking here. Once submitted, you will receive an email with a short list of the items needed to complete the application. Please be aware that there is a $20 fee to submit the application. Prospective students applying for grades 3-7 may schedule a “shadow” and spend the day with us when school is in session. This allows the student to experience the school environment in order to help with the enrollment decision. Questions? Call the Admissions Office at (413) 782-5246.

A Partnership Between Home & School

St. Michael’s Academy values the partnership that is needed between home and school. A successful education depends on the home and school working together as a team. Just as parents rely on the school to educate their child, the school relies on parents to assure that appropriate time is set aside for homework and study. Communication is key to maintaining this team approach. The school has a variety of methods used to keep parents informed such as a Parent Portal, a weekly electronic newsletter, Friday folders, and this website. Teachers are always available via email or telephone to address questions or concerns.
