Informational Writing


Ms. Wuller did an informational writing unit with her fourth grade students.  After reading two books on Antarctica, selected from the Journeys reading program, the students' task was to write a six paragraph essay using the informational process.  They were to take notes on the flip book organizer, write a first draft, edit and finish with a final copy containing at least one text feature such as a map, diagram or colored print/highlighting.

Because these are in black and white the colored print and highlighting are difficult to distinguish but they can be seen with careful observation.
